How long are locum posts?
Locum posts are generally for a period of between one week and a year, although most average around 3-4 months.

I am an overseas applicant and have had to pay the HPC fees to register in the UK, can you help with this?
Yes, our policy is to reimburse these costs to you after 18 weeks of work.

In which areas of the UK can you find me work?
We have bookings throughout the UK from the South Coast to Scotland. However the market in London is very tough and when posts do arise they often do not pay as much as posts elsewhere. It is recommended that you enter the locum market with a flexible mind as to location.

What is the likelihood that I will have consistent work?
It is possible to secure constant employment if you are flexible as to location. If you are located in one particular area (especially London) you may struggle to be constantly employed unless you consider permanent work.

When are the busy and quiet periods?
Although work does not dry up there are certain periods when the availability of work slows and we have to look harder. It is generally extremely busy from November to March and between May and September. The quieter periods are in April and October when there are not as many new posts coming through.

What clinical areas do you cover?
All clinical areas although some areas are in higher demand than others, usually Hand Therapy, Mental Health, Paediatrics, Care of the Elderly and Respiratory are in constant high demand. Sonography, Mammography are always in demand, also MRI, CT, Mobiles and if you have experience in PACS.

Do I get holiday pay?
Yes, Dream Group pays you holiday pay. You will receive the equivalent of 20 days holiday pay per annum.

Do you employ assistants?
Yes we do, but these types of posts are few and far between.

Do you assist with finding accommodation?
Accommodation is usually provided in the nurses quarters if need be. If this is not available we have a network of house share contacts and Landlords that offer good quality accommodation at a reasonable price.

How long should I allow if coming from overseas to apply for a work permit and HPC registration?
To give yourself the best chance at a stress-free move to the UK, you should allow at least 3-6 months to apply for all necessary documentation.

I am over the age of 30 and too old for a young persons working holiday visa, can you still assist me?
Yes, contact us and we can arrange you work and handle the visa application or you may have the option to apply for a Highly Skilled Migrant Visa.

What grades of staff do you find work for?
All grades.

Do we just place locums?
No we also get bookings from hospitals requiring permanent members of staff and many people are opting for this in order to secure stable employment.

If I am from overseas can I work in the UK?
Yes providing you have your HPC registration in place and visa, we can find you a suitable position with accommodation where required.

If I take a locum position and are not happy there or find the traveling too far can I cancel the booking?
Yes, out of courtesy we are required to give the relevant hospital 5 working days notice for them to be able to replace you and for us to find you another position.
