In which areas of the UK are you able to find me work?
Currently we receive and fill vacant posts throughout the whole of the UK. While the concentration of work is in London, we regularly
receive vacancies from the South Coast through to the Highlands.
I am an overseas applicant and have had to pay the GSCC fees to register in the UK, can you help with this?
Yes, Dream Social Work’s policy is to reimburse these costs to you after 18 weeks of work.
What is the likelihood that I will have consistent work?
Very, the demand for staff is high and although there are certain times of the year when it is harder to find work and we may ask for a
longer notice period to secure you a post, we are confident that we can keep you in employment if we have a two week notice period on your availability date.
When are the busy and quiet periods?
Although work rarely ever dries up completely, there are certain periods when the availability of work slows and our consultants work even
more tirelessly than normal to ensure you have job security. It is generally extremely busy from November to March and between May and
September. The quieter periods are in April and October when it is standard across the entire industry for less posts to come through.
Do I get holiday pay?
Yes, Dream Group pays your holiday pay in advance on a weekly basis. You will receive the equivalent of 20 days holiday pay per annum as
reflected in your pay slips. Should you have any queries relating to this system please contact one of our Dream Consultants today
for assistance.
Do you assist with finding accommodation?
Accommodation is usually provided in the nurses quarters if need be. If this type of accommodation is not available, we have a network of
house-share and landlord contacts that offer good quality accommodation at a reasonable price.
How long should I allow if coming from overseas to apply for a work permit and HPC registration?
To give yourself the best chance at a stress-free move to the UK and to ensure you leave enough time for your relevant paperwork to
be processes, you should begin the application at least 3 months before you plan on leaving your home country. Please get in touch with one of
our experienced recruitment consultants at any time to discuss your options for coming to the UK to work.
I am over the age of 30 and too old for a young persons working holiday visa, can you still assist me?
Yes, contact us and we can discuss employment opportunities and other visas allowing you to work in the UK, such as a work permit or a
Highly Skilled Migrant Visa.
What grades of staff do you find work for?
We find work for all grade of staff.
Do we just place temporary staff?
While a large proportion of our posts are for temporary workers, we are placing an increasing number of candidates in permanent positions within around the UK.
If I am from overseas can I work in the UK?
Yes providing you have your GSCC registration and work permit in place, we will be able to find you a suitable position and accommodation should it be required.
If I take a locum position and are not happy in the position, or find the travelling to and from work too far, am I able to cancel the booking?
Yes, out of courtesy we are required to give the relevant hospital 5 working days notice for them to be able to replace you. This notice period also
allows us time to find you another position.
